About Travel from Newark Liberty International Airport to the Exchange Place PATH Station in Jersey City, NJ

Travel from Newark Liberty International Airport to the Exchange Place PATH Station in Jersey City, NJ?
I will be doing this trip on a weekday, how much will the total fare be? Is this plan correct? 1) Take Airtrain to Newark International Airport Station 2) From Airport Station, take NJ Transit train to Newark Penn Station 3) From Newark Penn Station, take PATH rail to Exchange Place Station So I should take the bus to Newark Station? I don't know which option to do with me lugging around a carryon. What do you think?

Answer 1 :
You can do it that way, but it might be faster (and less expensive) to take a bus. NJ Transit used to have a bus directly from the airport to Newark Penn Station; not sure if it still does.
Answer 2 :
Step 1: New Jersey Transit #62 and #67 goes to Newark for $1.35 Fare Zone. Make sure to get on Newark-bound, because if you got on Perth Amboy/Toms River-bound, you'll have to paid additional fare. Step 2: Get off at Newark Penn Station, purchase $1.75 single ride PATH ticket and take World Trade center train to Exchange Place.
Answer 3 :
My friend, if you have a carry-on, my advice take the train, which is faster. The route that you stated in your question is correct. The total fare $9.50, which is broken down as followed: NJ Transit/Airtrain from EWR to Penn Station Newark: $7.75 PATH Rail from Penn Station Newark to Exchange Place $1.75 Please note, when purchasing your NJ Transit ticket at the Newark Airport train station, an access charge of $5.50 is include with the NJ Transit ticket. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck
Answer 4 :
Famous NY answered this question best. I would follow her advice. Also, I know that those buses have a relatively large section you can place your luggage on behind the driver's area. As long as you're not taking the bus during rush hour, I'm sure there will be room for your luggage. I think you're allowed one large luggage bag and one small back pack to carry with you at your seat on that particular bus. It goes directly from Newark Airport to Newark Penn Station where you can take the PATH train. Don't waste your time or money by taking two additional trains from the airport. I know the 62 bus runs frequently. You can go to NJtransit.com and find its exact schedule on there. It goes to all Terminals A, B, and C

About How do I travel from New York City to New Jersey by train or bus

How do I travel from New York City to New Jersey by train or bus?
I'm trying to go to the Walmart in New Jersey.
New York City - 11 Answers

Answer 1 :
by train is better
Answer 2 :
take a train from Grand Central or a bus from the port authority bus station...., both are not too far from Central Park and I think that's in manhattan...
Answer 3 :
I'll go all out and say which ever one is the cheapiest.
Answer 4 :
That depends on where you want to go in New Jersey, there are many WalMarts. Everything goes from Penn Station in Manhatten. But you will need to go to the website of NY/NJ Port Authority to find which bus or train will take you where you want to go. http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/ Also try New Jersey Transit for train schedules. http://www.njtransit.com/hp/hp_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=HomePageTo If you are going from the south end of Manhattan, the PATH from the World Trade Center site is now running again, so you can go from there.
Answer 5 :
Train or Bus....depending on where in Manhattan you might have to take both. but my first choice is Train. You can get to the Path from 33rd street. bring you right into Hoboken NJ and connect on NJ Transit to Secaucus hop on a cab tell them to walmart. Express buses bring travelers from Secaucus to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, near Times Square, in approximately 20 minutes. Trains from Secaucus Junction reach Penn Station New York in 9 minutes and Hoboken in 10 minutes. You may change to a PATH train to lower Manhattan in Hoboken. All northern New Jersey NJ Transit rail lines and Amtrak stop at Secaucus Junction Access to Secaucus Junction rail station is by taxi, or bus only. There is no commuter parking at the station. Distance from Manhattan to S. Jersery is 3.81 miles to this store Wal-Mart Store #3520 400 Park Place Secaucus, NJ 07094 (201) 325-9280
Answer 6 :
The best way to travel from Newyork City to New Jersey is by bus.
Answer 7 :
You can take the bus from The Port Authority directly to the Walmart in Secaucus, NJ. Bus 320 One way $2.30
Answer 8 :
Take the bus from Port Authority... why go to the walmart when you can go to Woodbury Commons outlets!!!!!
Answer 9 :
Go to njtransit.com. Use the "Trip Planner." Enter your starting address and the address for the Walmart. Choose all options - and njtransit.com will tell you all the bus and train routes, as well as traveling time and fares.
Answer 10 :
You can take the path train in either Penn Station or World Trade Center (ground zero) or NJ transit at port authority on 42nd st and 8th ave
Answer 11 :
the one and only wal mart in new jersey, huh

Answer 1 :
You can easily get a 1 bedroom in the Heights section of Jersey City for 1,200 to 1,400 and take the Kennedy Blvd mini-bus into 40th St to get to work. You can look at ads in the Hudson Reporter (that free paper in stores), the Jersey Journal or www.craigslist.com If you want a waterfront apartment, you will be paying up to 5,000 for it unless you get a share

About What is the cheapest way I can travel from New Jersey to New York City by train or buss

What is the cheapest way I can travel from New Jersey to New York City by train or buss?
I'm going to be going to New York City alot during the summer and paying for NJTransit is getting expensive since I am a college student. So if anyone has ideas or alternatives to it to get me to NYC that'd be great. I am trying o leave from Summit, NJ or somewhere near that area.
New York City - 7 Answers

Answer 1 :
Nothing is cheaper than the bus,
Answer 2 :
You're already traveling to NYC the cheapest way. Suburban Bus lines goes through Summit to NYC but the price is way up there. Even if you buy a monthly ticket, it would cost much more than NJT.
Answer 3 :
Seems the only other alternative beside NJ transit is bus. From Summit get a ten trip pass -- Here is the link BUT it is 2008 pricing. http://www.lakelandbus.com/Fares.html there may be other options but that was the quickest to come up .
Answer 4 :
I know the PATH train is cheap but I have not idea if it goes to Summitt, but maybe something to look into.
Answer 5 :
They are almost the same price.I believe the train is about $4 extra, thats because you get into NYC quicker.
Answer 6 :
Students can get a discount on NJ Transit tickets, but only if you buy a monthly pass.
Answer 7 :
You can take bus route 70 from the Summit train station to Newark Penn Station. Once at Newark Penn Station, take the PATH train to Manhattan. The fare on the bus is $2.60 one way ($5.20 round trip per day), and the fare on the PATH will cost you $1.75 each way ($3.50 round trip per day). You can get a discounted unlimited ride MetroCard at Newark Penn Station PATH station for $25 a week and ride both the PATH and the Subway in Manhattan for as many times as you wish. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck

About I was wondering what might be the best way to travel from JFK airport to Jersey city, NJ late night

I was wondering what might be the best way to travel from JFK airport to Jersey city, NJ late night?
And I meant, by using public transport. How much would a taxi cost approximately? Thanks guys.
New York City - 5 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
From my experience a cab would cost about $80, including tolls
Answer 2 :
Whats late night? If the trains are still running you can get the lirr into the Atlantic Center, the 4 into Fulton Street, and short walk to WTC and you can catch the PATH train, but that all depends on what time you are going.
Answer 3 :
Another method would be to take the AirTrain ($5) to Jamaica Station. Take the LIRR ($5 or $3 weekends all day) to Penn Station. From Penn Station you can take NJ Transit, or walk over 1 Avenue to 6th Avenue to the PATH Train or walk (or take 8th Avenue Train uptown 1 stop) to 40th and 8th Avenue (Port Authority Bus Terminal) and take NJ Transit Buses.
Answer 4 :
If you are travelling late at night I would suggest hiring a car service to pick you up. This way it beats looking for a cab, and paying their rates. The car service will have someone waiting for you, and you can pay by credit card and not worry about having the cash with you.
Answer 5 :
I take it switching from JFK to Newark Airport isn't an option?

Answer 1 :
Don't you mean JFK Airport by the chance? If you mean JFK Airport, here's step. Step 1: Take Airtrain JFK "Howard Beach" train to Station A: Howard Beach. Step 2: From Airtrain Vending Machine, select new card, regular, other amount and put in $8.75. Step 3: Use Airtrain turnstile going directly into subway and $7 (Airtrain $5 and Subway $2 deducted). Step 4: Take Manhattan-bound (A) express train to Chambers St-World Trade Center. Step 5: Exit the station, and follow the temporality PATH detour sign to West Broadway/Vesey St and paid $1.75 with same MetroCard. Step 6: Take Newark train to Journal Square Station.
Answer 2 :
You mean JFK airport. Take the Path. Port authorithy to Journal Square. Heres the number for customer service- For customer information, please call: (800) 234-PATH/7284.
Answer 3 :
Journal Square runs on the path, so you can hook up with the path at ground Zero, but you do mean JFK right? If you do, get in a subway, it should be right outside the Airport, Take to the stop on 23 st, take the path to journal square
Answer 4 :
Hello, I would do it the hassle free way. I would just call a car service and have them bring me there from door to door. So you decide yourself if you want to save money or your nerves. Here is a toll free number for a car service called NY LIMO LAND it's 1-866-840-4141 or on the web www.nylimoland.com Good luck

About transportation system good enough for me to travel from Newark/Jersey City to NYC

is transportation system good enough for me to travel from Newark/Jersey City to NYC?
I will have no car, but i wanna rent hotel in Newark/Jersey City area and i'll touring at NYC a lot. any transportation can take me from Newark/Jersey City to NYC every day? Can you also provide me with link/map/details if possible? thanks a lot!
New York City - 3 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
There is a train system (PATH) that stops in both Newark and Jersey City en route to NYC, for $1.75 each way. There is another train system (NJ Transit) that stops in Newark on the way into NYC. NJ Transit also operates numerous bus routes from NJ to NYC (and back). It's difficult to give you more details without knowing exactly where you seek to stay. The Pavonia area of Jersey City is the most convenient for getting to NYC, but those hotels are also more expensive than the ones out by Newark airport (where you will have a long and complicated trip into NYC). http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/map.html http://www.njtransit.com
Answer 2 :
It's good, but do you know how far Newark/Jersey City is from NYC without a car? It takes a while to get there. You need to take the NJ Transit, then transfer to the PATH Train, then transfer to the MTA at either 14th St. or 34th St. to get to where you need to go. Depending on how far you are from the nearest NJ Transit train or the PATH Train, it can easily take up to 45 minutes to an hour Are you sure you want to be walking around in Newark and taking the transit around there? Have you never heard about Newark...?
Answer 3 :
The transportation system is fine, but Newark is one of the most dangerous cities in the country. Most of the criminals that Giuliani kicked out of NYC moved to Newark, and i IMPLORE you to find a hotel in a different city. Parts of it are safe, of course, but most of it is not

Of course it is. You can the take the PATH train, which is an interurban train line, from JC to NYC. The fare on the PATH train is $1.75 one way. However, if you're going to be using the train everyday, I would recommend purchasing a SmartLink card, which will give you unlimited travel on the PATH trains. The SmartLink card range in price from $18 to $54. Good luck

Yes. The PATH trains run between Jersey City and New York City 24 hours a day, in both directionsa

Answer 1 :
Forget having a car at all if you're going to be spending anytime in NYC. Jersey City - take the PATH trains to Manhattan. Once you're in Manhattan, you have lots of connections via the subway, depending on where you want to go. Alternatively, you can take a NJ transit bus to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there there are also subway connections to other parts of Manhattan and beyond.
Answer 2 :
take the Path train, really good and convenient, and always on schedule. there are buses too. as to parking the car in jersey city try to find a long term parkinglot or an overnight municipal lot for a fee.
Answer 3 :
path train $1.50, but there's a fare hike soon. path train is like the nyc subway, but it goes to new jersey. http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/ path park and ride guide (has maps, everything) http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/pdfs/NEW_ParkingGuide.pdf
